At the CIJ (Construction & Investment Journal) real estate awards held on 8 December 2010 (one of the more prestigious awards ceremonies), with all the leading investment funds and real estate players present, Biris Goran was voted "Law Firm of the Year" for real estate. The award was granted based on a vote of over 100 leading property professionals in Romania.

The founders of VentureConnect, an initiative of Biris Goran, which aims to bring together Romanian IT and on-line entrepreneurs with local and foreign investors, will hold the workshop Preparing for a Successful Handshake with an Investor -- A Step by Step Guide for Entrepreneurs Looking for Investments" on 10 November 2010, during the international conference RoNewMedia 5.0.
The workshop will analyze the steps of an investment in an IT/On-line business in Romania with a particular focus on four main areas: Intellectual Property, M&A (Mergers and Acquisitions)/Corporate, Finance and Tax. The speakers will be Gabriel Biris and Daniel Visoiu, partners of the law firm Biris Goran, along with Christian Mindru -- Of Counsel and Ana Maria Andronic -- Senior Associate, who each have at least 10 years of legal experience in Romania.
The specific topics of the workshop are: "New Media Tools: Problems or Opportunities for Entrepreneurs: Navigating an IT/Online Business through Digital Copyright", "Structuring an IT/On-line Business for Future Investments and What to Expect during the Investment Process", "Marrying an Investment Fund, Beware of the Prenuptial (Investment) Agreement" and "Engineer your Taxes Properly -- Locally and Internationally".

Biris Goran is partnering up with Eurobuild CEE in organizing the "Back-To-Business" Conference, an event that will bring together key figures and companies active in the country to discuss the major issues of the moment and the longer-term trends on the Romanian Commercial Real Estate market.
