Ionut Dobrinescu

Before joining Biris Goran in 2009, Ionut was an in-house attorney and general legal counsel representing foreign investors such as the New York-based New Century Holding Advisors (the investment manager of Broadhurst Investments Ltd., Cyprus), one of Romania’s leading portfolio investors. A litigator, he has substantial experience with capital markets/securities litigation including successful representations before the Romanian National Securities Commission (CNVM), and is one of Romania’s experts on proxy fights and takeover procedures. Ionut is experienced in portfolio management and enforcing minority shareholder rights. Since joining Biris Goran, Ionut has focused on litigation matters involving bankruptcy/insolvency, corporate, commercial and securities law issues.

• Advised major portfolio investors relating to minority interests held in Romanian companies listed on Bucharest Stock Exchange, with particular focus on enforcement of minority shareholders’ rights and exit strategies
• Legal assistance to major portfolio investors pertaining to proxy fights and takeover procedures
• Successfully represented major investors before the National Securities Commission (CNVM) and the Romanian courts with respect to capital markets/securities law issues
